Lucky for me
Not exactly dream related, but I was hella lucky this week. In a moment of stupidity, I lost all my data from this blog. I wiped out an entire database by mistake, and thought that I had lost all of my posts. Lucky for me, I have a really cool webhost who told me that the server makes daily, weekly and monthly backups of my entire server, databases and all.
After a brief panic and some fiddling, I got back all my data and this blog is alive once again. Let this be a lesson to everyone, whether you dream or not: don’t forget to back your blogs up because there will always come a point when you or your server does something that causes a data loss.
If I’d had to start this blog again, I may have just packed it in, because I would have lost several months worth of posting. That would have been so not cool. Sure as hell, I will never try and do something with my databases that I only think I can do. It always pays to double check when you’re messing with your blogs.
